The information needs of the community may be filled at Altamonte Springs City Library. A full range of library services includes community information, the Altamonte Springs History Collection, Mobile Information Center ("Mic"), reference service, Inter-Library Loan Service, children's story programs, Artist of the Month displays, Internet access, and more. A monthly exhibit also takes place in the library. This monthly program exhibits both framed artwork and collections. Exhibits are open to the public during normal business hours. Interested exhibitors can stop by or call the library for a Prospective Artist Form.

There are plenty of community activities, classes, and more going on in the parks for interested residents of all age groups: Westmonte Park and Recreation Center offers a variety of events and programs taking place in the auditorium. They include gymnastics, tumbling, line dancing, community related meetings, and special events. Special program field trips and events geared toward older citizens and disabled young adults are scheduled frequently. Additionally, though, Westmonte Park boasts a 25-meter pool where swimming lessons, scuba classes and lap swimming are held. Summertime open swim accommodates the water sport patron. Programs for seniors and mentally/physically challenged citizens are held in the indoor therapeutic pool complete with a whirlpool, ramp and chair lift. Supervised aquatic therapy to improve and maintain muscular fitness is promoted. Just off Jamestown Boulevard, the Merrill Recreation Facility has three championship softball diamonds with state of the art field lighting and electronic scoreboards. This is the site of year-round softball both open and league play. Bleacher seating and a grassy hillside present ample space for spectator viewing. Three beach volleyball courts have lighting, which will accommodate nighttime open and league play. For joggers, the nature trail is equipped with eleven exercise stations for a maximal workout. Two-lighted picnic pavilions have tables, BBQ grills and water fountains with a playground and handicapped accessible restrooms nearby.

Inside the George D. Perkins Civic Center at Eastmonte, many activities are conducted. Senior socials, community related meetings, and special events are examples of a few. Eastmonte is the home site for Altamonte's Babe Ruth Baseball season in the spring. This is also the location of the newly created "Jim Hovis Youth Baseball Training Facility" featuring batting cages, pitching mounds and baseball fields for our youth. Enclosed air- conditioned racquetball facilities are available for open play and adult leagues. An extensively equipped playground area provides ample play for children of all ages and sizes. Easily accessible restrooms and picnic pavilions with grills and tables were built with convenience in mind. The Lake Brantley Multi-Purpose Complex is located on the campus of Lake Brantley High School, and consists of a fifty meter competitive pool with a diving well, 2 one meter and 2 three meter diving boards, plus a shallow area for swimming instruction and moveable bulkheads for multiple usage at the same time. Programs offered on-site are youth and adult volleyball, basketball, swim classes and competitive swimming, diving and water polo meets. Additionally the site is used to attract state and national sports and swim meets.
